Today I completed โMemory Called Empire” by Arkady Martine (audiobook version). This book got to my list for being both Hugo and Nebula nominee.
In short, book was well worth the praise it has received. I especially enjoyed the exploration of personality, identity, and memory. The premise of “imago” device storing parts of personalities over generations in imago lines was an excellent starting point in exploring all this. I found the audiobook version a hard listen due to perhaps the complicated names of characters and places. If you are going to read this perhaps consider paper/e-ink version. I know my second read will not be an audiobook.
