Completed “Midnight in Chernobyl” 📚 by Adam Higginbotham. Most of the time I thought that I should have read this first and “Voices from Chernobyl” by Svetlana Alexievich second to get the facts first and the emotions second. I think of in terms of how Chernobyl felt Alexievich is much better storyteller (or perhaps better at letting people telling their own stories) but both books are well worth a read. Especially two last chapters covering time periods HBO’s Chernobyl and Alexievich didn’t cover (I mean how cool is Elephant’s foot are extremely enticing.
On my currently reading list: Still working my way through “Guns of August” and slowly enjoying “Smoke and Mirrors” by Neil Gaiman, and finally, as one always needs to have a space opera on the night desk I am reading “Player of Games” by Iain M. Banks
