My Bloomsday 2026 project

Years ago I ran a Twitter account called Ulysses Reader that went through all of Ulysses and then started again. That account is no longer (I haven’t been on Twitter ever since September 2019), but some posts about it still remain in the wider internet:

Even back then I thought, maybe I could some day create a video project out of Ulysses and this year I did. I need to learn video creation for “reasons” and this one was a fun way to practice. Here is the video of the final chapter of this year’s project “Penelope”

And here is the sentence I would have never thought writing: for the rest of it, follow me on tiktok!

(video alt-text: A vertical video in the style of damaged archive film, warm with grain and scratches. A single continuous shot drifts slowly across the printed final page of Ulysses in soft dawn light. Handwritten paper notes appear over the page one at a time, reading “memory arrives first”, “no punctuation just pulse”, and “yes”. The camera settles on the book’s famous last line as an ending card repeats it: “yes I said yes I will Yes”.)
