I’ve been pen curious for long. I’ve listened to Pen addict podcast for a couple of years now thinking that it would be so much fun. I have resisted the temptation because I know that bottom of this slippery slope is justifying purchases of several hundred euros.
Finally, I caved in and hinted that I might want Lamy Safari for Christmas. Here I am with a fountain pen and a moleskine…
What does your lunch plate look like? Mine today was a bit fancier than usual with potato, pickled herring, skagen prawn salad, and some cold smoked salmon. Not quite every day but not totally uncommon either

I like how Americans are like ”Fahrenheit is so much better for ambient temperature” like it wasn’t 100% what are used to. Yes, it is 50F, midway point between frozen brine and a slight fever. Very intuitive.
And Celsius is so much better if you have seasons. 34F is a very different weather from 30F.
It is hard to sum up a terrible year with a lot going wrong in my personal life, so I just use Upgrade Vorhees Scale to rank the months of 2022:
January 2022 - Just below average - nothing notable
February 2022 - Awful (war in Ukraine, lot of stress related to work)
March 2022 - Worst, I hate you (war in Ukraine, moved to a new apartment, broke up)
April 2022 - Awful (all that ☝️)
May 2022 - Awful plus (in the brink of a burnout)
June 2022 -Just below average (all that above, but started meeting new people, also 🦠)
July 2022 - Believe (good fun family stuff, Finnish summer)
August 2022 - Awful plus (some work related stress)
September 2022 - Believe (new relationship that went to places fast, work stuff getting better)
October 2022 - Awful (that new relationship didn’t last, all the good news wiped out by nasty surprises, only thing going great: work)
November 2022 - Awful (still felt that any good news always came with a monkey paw gotcha)
December 2022 - Just below average (new promising things brewing, but still got some not so nice surprises)
On the average 2022 in my life - Awful plus, better than 2016 and 2014 but that is about it. Here’s hoping 2023 will be much, much better

Interesting, 100% of people responding said “yes, I have access to land-line”.
I remembered this when my son saw “Deion Sanders getting the call” photo in Madden NFL game and didn’t recognise what Deion was holding on his ear. He will be 12 in four weeks.
I occasionally ask this from my internet friends: do you have access to a land-line telephone in your life (still)?

Now, I’m no lawyer, but if you’re going to do crimes, maybe don’t document them in a group chat helpfully labeled with the name of the crime you are committing.
